Man (18) set to be reported for traffic offences after two-vehicle A9 collision near Alness

AN 18-year-old driver is set to be reported for road traffic offences following a collision in Easter Ross yesterday evening (Wednesday).

A woman was taken to hospital after the incident, police said.

Police were alerted to a two-vehicle crash on the A9 near Alness at around 5.40pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving two cars on the A9 near the B817, Alness, around 5.40pm on Wednesday, March 29.

​“Emergency services attended and the driver of one of the vehicles, a 48-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"The 18-year-old male driver of the other car will be reported in connection with road traffic offences.”

The condition of the woman taken to hospital is not known.
