Trail cameras have been installed at Ledmore and Migdale Wood after a driver gained access to the area illegally.

Woodland Trust site manager Ross Watson said the chain barring motorised access into the wood from the Fairy Glen had been cut off with a grinder last week.

Since then a vehicle had been regularly driven through, badly cutting up the rough track.

A sign has now been erected warning that CCTV is in operation and appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch.

Mr Watson posted online: "If you know who it may be, have a word please. A handful of trailcams are now up for the next few days along with signage. The chain has also been replaced."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mr Watson by phone: 07585 995300 or email: rosswatson@woodlandtrust.org.uk
