Driver clocked at 48mph in 30 limit in Melvich

An East Kilbride man caught speeding in north Sutherland has been fined £200.

Stuart Stalker (36) also incurred four penalty points after he pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court this week.

The offence occurred on the A836 at Melvich, on January 30, when Stalker, of Littleton, East Kilbride, was clocked by police at 48mph in a 30mph limit.

  • Meanwhile, in a separate case, a Lybster teenager whose vehicle had two defective tyres was fined £160.

Alexander Carter (19), of Norland Road, Lybster, also incurred three penalty points after he admitted the offence which occurred in Willowbank, Wick, on May 22.
