There was a huge turnout for Dornoch’s bonfire and fireworks night last Saturday.

Crowds thronged the square and joined in the torchlight parade to the bonfire site at Meadows Park.

One local resident, a veteran of the community event, said: “The turnout was fantastic with many folk coming from south of the firth. I expect it was one of the busiest bonfire nights ever.”

Dornoch and District Community Association organises the display, which is one of the most popular events in the town.

Bonfire and fireworks events were also held elsewhere in Sutherland including at Kinlochbervie and Lochinver.
