Dornoch's festive St Andrew's Fair to be 'bigger and better than ever'
Dornoch’s St Andrew's Fair is going to be bigger and better than ever this year, say organisers.
The popular festive fair, run by Dornoch and District Community Association (DADCA), is set to be held on Saturday, December 2, and will bring plenty of Christmas cheer to the county town.
Christmas bazaars with stalls and pop-up cafes will spring up at four different locations – the community centre and the hub in the centre of town and now also at Dornoch Academy and Dornoch South car park.
Santa will be in his grotto at the school where there will be live music throughout the day. An open-air market with 18 stalls will be held at the car park.
A popular part of the festivities is the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights and a carol service at Dornoch Cathedral.
All the shops and restaurants are expected to take part in the day with special offers and tastings of seasonal food and drink.
DADCA secretary Kim Tewnion said: “DADCA is working in partnership with other local organisations to bring an even bigger event to the town this year.
“We hope that people from Dornoch, and further afield will come and enjoy our festive fair – whether as stall holders, shoppers or simply those who wish to meet Santa Claus!”
The hall at the community centre and the hub are now fully booked, but exhibitors who want to be part of the day can still do so with spaces available. at Dornoch Academy.
