From S1 through to S6, pupils were divided into their houses for the last two hours of the term.

In these houses – Skelbo, Dunrobin and Carbisdale – the pupils were given a range of activities to choose from.

Using the skills they will need in the workplace in the future - communication, initiative, negotiation and problem solving - the groups tried to solve a human knot, make the longest line or race to most successfully make a stick levitate.

For the final period, the pupils went outside and continued working in smaller teams to play capture the flag.

Organised by geography teacher, and head of the house system, Mrs Roper, both the senior and the junior house captains took leading roles in helping to select and put into practice the activities.

Acting head teacher of the 3-18 Dornoch Firth Campus, Norman Ross said, “It was fantastic to see the young people engage so well.

"The world of work requires excellent team skills and we saw all of our Academy pupils step up today and work to hone these skills for their futures.

"We thank Kathryn Roper for her work behind the scenes, as well as all of the other staff who supported and encouraged, but the credit for the positive atmosphere and fun goes to the young people who were as brilliant as ever.”
