Interior designer Petra Palumbo is banking on success with the fulfilment of a long held ambition to open a flagship store in her home village of Beauly.

Located on the ground floor of the former bank building on the edge of the village square – the first stop for many on the North Coast 500 driving route – the 2200sq ft store has been created as flagship showcase for her own designs and personally selected other items, whether antique, vintage or contemporary.

"It has always been dream of mine to open a shop," Petra said.

"The opportunity to rent the space presented itself and I grabbed it as I knew this kind of building wouldn’t come knocking twice. I really wanted for people to see and feel my products in person and associate my wares with a place, allowing them to fully experience my curated and colourful world."

Beauly was an obvious choice for the shop and the former bank provides a unique setting for Petra's homeware and ever changing installations, with the 11 original arched windows flooding the space with natural light to create a bright and welcoming retail space which reflects the joyful and practical nature of her glassware creations.

"My family and I live in Beauly," Petra continued.

"It's a charming bustling town that has so much to offer. I feel very honoured to be amongst such fantastic shops and eateries on the High Street."

Designed as a one stop-shop for gifts, soft furnishings and latest artisan creations, Petra puts an emphasis on products which are environmentally conscious, high-quality and made to last, and views her flagship shop as an extension of her home.

Her intention is that the shop will continuously change to resemble different aspects of her life living between the Scottish Highlands and London and influences from her Lebanese ancestry.

Petra Palumbo's Beauly shop is open by appointment only on Monday and Tuesdays and from 10am to 4pm from Wednesday to Saturday.
