Highland Council is inviting community and third sector organisations to submit applications to its 2013 Deprived Area Fund.

Priority will be given to projects that create jobs for people who are furthest removed from the labour market and live within the targeted areas including parts of Alness, Fort William, Invergordon, Inverness, Seaboard and Wick.

North, West and Central Sutherland councillor George Farlow, vice chair of the Planning, Environment and Development Committee, said: “This is another example of the council’s commitment to help communities to support people to get into work.

"We look forward to receiving applications from organisations which can make a real difference to people in our most disadvantaged areas within the Highlands.”
