Train passengers too face delays on services between Inverness and Wick this morning.

Train passengers are being warned of delays on services between Inverness and Dingwall this morning due to severe weather.

Trains will have to run at reduced speed on all lines and disruption is expected to last until about noon. (29 January).

Network Rail has advised that because of strong winds, speed restrictions have been imposed on some lines where ScotRail trains operate.

Services between Inverness and Wick will have to run at a slower speed meaning delays on this route can be expected.

There is also significant disruption to rail passengers in Scotland’s central belt due to safety-critical engineering works by Network Rail on the main Edinburgh-Glasgow railway line

Services between Inverness to Edinburgh will run via Fife and will not call at Stirling.

The work is being carried out from today until February 1 .

Passengers can check on Scotrail before making their journey.
