Organisers of the Dornoch Fibre Fest say they are planning to proceed this year with the popular two-day festival of fibres and textiles.

The Fibre Fest was last held in 2020 when it celebrated its 11th anniversary. However, it did not go ahead last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Held in Dornoch Social Club and the West Church Hall, the weekend comprises an opening talk followed by masterclasses, workshops and presentations on various arts and crafts.

The event was attended in 2020 by some extra special guests from north Japan.

The Yuza Sashiko Guild gave 'make and take' workshops on the ancient craft of sashiko, a form of decorative reinforcement stitching, originally used to reinforce or repair work fabric.

This year's Dornoch Fibre Fest is scheduled to take place over the weekend of March 12-13 and details of classes are being finalised and should be made public by mid-January.
