Date set for funeral of Lord Strathnaver: 'All welcome to attend'

The funeral of Lord Strathnaver, Alexander Sutherland, is to take place at Dunrobin Castle next Tuesday, his family have announced.

A service will take place at the castle from 1pm on September 20, and thereafter to the private Dunrobin Cemetery.

All are welcome to attend.

A funeral announcement said Alexander Sutherland was a "much loved son and brother".

Dunrobin Castle previously posted on social media that it is to close for two days, on Monday, September 19 - the day of the Queen’s funeral - and on September 20.

Lord Strathnaver (40) was found dead after falling from cliffs at Thurso East on Saturday, September 4.
