The private hire operator has a new destination this winter – Neverland.

D&E Coaches is once again acting as the main sponsor of Eden Court’s festive pantomime offering, which this year is Peter Pan.

It opens on December 7 and is set to run through to January 8.

Meeting Peter Pan himself at the Inverness theatre, managing director of D&E Coaches Donald Mathieson said: “We’re delighted to continue our association with panto season at Eden Court.

“We’ve been involved since 2019 but, of course, the pandemic meant there was no show the following year.

“Cinderella was very popular last year only for a Covid spike to bring it to an early end.

“This winter should be different and Peter Pan’s timeless appeal will be particularly attractive to children and adults alike.

“When invited to be main sponsor again, we pounced quicker than Captain Hook!

“The theatre has had a challenging time but we hope Peter Pan provides the festive frolics the area enjoys.”

And he added: “We’re telling our drivers to set their satnav to Neverland!”

The multi-talented Steven Wren will again direct and write the panto as well as playing the Dame in his traditional double act with Ross Allan.

Mr Wren said: “We’ve been lucky to have a resilient sponsor in D&E Coaches, who’ve proved a true friend of the panto.

“It’s terrific to have their support once again. Listen out for their name coming up in a couple of gags!”

Susannah Armitage, Eden Court senior producer, said: “The pantomime season is our largest single income generator and early bookings for Peter Pan are commendably strong.

“It’s important to have a respected local business supporting us and D&E are to be congratulated for their continued commitment.”

D&E Coaches has enjoyed a significant upturn in business this year with the return of sporting events, the cruise line sector and their CitySightseeing coaches.
