Cyclist in 'serious but stable' condition in hospital following crash with van on A9 near Alness; Police Scotland appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses

A cyclist is in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital after a crash on the A9 near Alness involving a bike and van.

The two vehicles collided at the Rosskeen junction at around 6.55pm.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the crash, which closed the road for around three hours while police carried out a crash investigation at the scene.

The van involved in the collision was a white Peugeot. Its driver was uninjured.

The cyclist (40), was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses who saw the collision, or either the bike or van shortly beforehand, are being urged to get in touch with police.

Sergeant Douglas Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the cyclist in the area shortly before the collision to get in touch.

“We are also appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who has dashcam footage or any other information which may assist to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3132 of 25 October, 2023.
