Author G R Halliday to visit Ullapool Bookshop after recent release of crime-thriller novel set in the rural Highlands

Scottish crime writer G R Halliday, will be visiting Ullapool Bookshop on Tuesday, August 9, from 2-3pm to meet customers and sign copies of his novels in the best-selling DI Monica Kennedy series, after the recent release of latest title, Under the Marsh.

First novel From the Shadows was published in 2020 by Vintage Publishing, and all three novels are set in the Scottish Highlands, with some of that debut set in Ullapool itself.

Mr Halliday was born in Edinburgh, and spent his childhood near Stirling. He was inspired to write by his father, the author of books about unexplained mysteries and the paranormal.

In 2019 From the Shadows was shortlisted for the McIlvanney Debut Prize.

Mr Halliday now lives outside Inverness, where he is able to pursue his favourite pastimes of mountain climbing and swimming in the sea.
