THE weather-related postponement of Ross County Football Club's home fixture against Hibs yesterday was a disappointment to Staggies' fans keen to see the team return to winning ways.

However it also left the Dingwall club's catering team with a potential headache with food preparations for hospitality suite guests already well under way.

But the top flight club made the quick decision to work with caterers Red Poppy to deliver over 300 meals due to be served in its corporate suites to the local community.

Dingwall Community Centre and the Capstone Centre in Alness were the recipients of the meals "which we are sure will be put to good use".

Many took to social media to express their approval.

Said one: "Excellent gesture. Sure it was all much appreciated too. Once again the Highlands top club setting standards."

Another wrote: "That is an awesome thing to do. Happy Christmas to an excellent football club."

The Capstone Centre in Alness earlier this month announced it would be serving a heart-warming dinner on Christmas Day.
