Livestock convenor Ian Muir welcomed those present and said a big thank-you to all those who had exhibited at the popular show.

He went on to speak about the hard work and skill required to get stock and produce ready for competition.

The prizes were presented this year by Margaret MacKay, Balkeith, near Tain.

Mrs MacKay and her husband Alan, the show’s honorary president, have enthusiastically supported the event in a myriad of ways over many years.

After all the trophies had been presented and the photocall made, a beautiful buffet meal was served by the Coach House, Dornoch.

A spokesman for the society said: “The trophy presentation marks the end of the show season so it was great to see winners from both ends of the age spectrum, and every age in between, come along and share the evening with their friends, families and the committee.

“It was clear from the enthusiasm of everyone in the room that plans are well under way for the 2023 show season which in Sutherland will take place at the Links, Dornoch on Saturday, July 22."
