Roadworks set for A9 at Drumochter for 10 nights

Lining works on the A9 at Drumochter will start on Monday.
A night time convoy system with lane closures will be in place from 7pm to 6am for 10 nights.
Essential lining improvements will see 1200m of carriageway covered between the dual carriageway section and single carriageway section.
"When complete, the carriageway lining upgrade will improve visibility for drivers who use the road daily," said Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland's north west spokesman.
The project will take place between 7pm and 6am each night with the lining due to be completed by 6am on Saturday April 8, with no works are planned on Saturday or Sunday nights.
"To ensure the safety of road workers and motorists, the works will be undertaken under 10mph convoy with lane closures and temporary traffic lights during working hours."
The road will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, Mr Ross added.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
“This lining project on the A9 will improve driver visibility and the road users’ experience. When complete, the carriageway lining upgrade will also require minimal future maintenance, therefore avoiding future disruption for motorists who use the road daily.
"Traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of both roadworkers and motorists. Regrettably there will be some delays, but our teams will do all they can to complete the scheme as safely and quickly as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project.
"We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
