The project involves converting the historic but redundant mart into a multi-purpose events space.

A planning application has been approved and the plans include the installation of a Green Room incorporating toilets and a kitchen offering refreshments.

It is intended that the refurbished mart will provide space for events such as theatre performances, markets and fairs. The 1.24 hectare site lies in the centre of the village.
