Rosehall Village Hall has unveiled an exciting programme of events to keep everyone entertained in the run-up to Christmas.
The first event takes place next Friday, November 25, when award-winning singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Elsa Jean MacTaggart and her husband Gary perform as part of a Scotland on Tour concert.
Rosehall is the only venue in Sutherland to have been selected to be part of the Scottish Government’s Scotland on Tour initiative, which is aimed at getting performers back on the road after the pandemic by supporting them with the cost of touring.
Dig out your dancing shoes to celebrate St Andrews Day at Rosehall Hall the following Wednesday (November 30) at a ceilidh with music from the Sandy Brechin Trio.
One of Scotland’s best know accordionists, Sandy Brechin is famous for his lightning-fast playing and hilarious on-stage humour.
Making up the trio is Jimmy Johannsson, a diverse fiddle and composer, and Christopher A Bang, a well-known Swedish folk musician.
Next month Rosehall Hall plays host on Wednesday, December 7, to Golspie-based harpist Jennifer Port who presents a lunchtime concert of music and song in the hall’s committee room with tea and home bakes to enjoy.
Jennifer is also performing her lunchtime concerts at Golspie, Bonar Bridge, Lairg and Lyth as part of Scotland on Tour. Visit:https://scotlandontour.com/artist/jennifer-port/
On Saturday, December 10, it’s time to raise a dram at a whisky tasting and songs evening with whisky bard Robin Laing, whose songs all have something to do with whisky.
A Twixmas quiz evening will be held at Rosehall Hall on Wednesday, December 28.
