The Highland Council Coastal Communities Fund has been set up by the council following an allocation of cash from the Scottish Government of Crown Estates revenue funding.

Councillor Trish Robertson, chairwoman of the council’s environment and infrastructure committee, said: “I hope communities take up this opportunity to submit their expressions of interest.

“This funding can make a difference to getting projects up and running that will bring a very welcome boost to our coastal communities and play a part in the wider economic recovery of the Highlands."

Sutherland has already benefited from an initial tranche of coastal funding.

A total of £355,205 is available and interested organisations should visit www.highland.gov.uk

The deadline for expressions of interest is Monday, June 14.
