After a planned party for North Coast youngsters at Strathy Hall was kiboshed because of coronavirus, organisers activated “Plan B".
A mini winter wonderland was created outdoors in the space where the old Melvich Village Hall used to be, with permission from Melvich Community SCIO.
Rosemary and Eric Cameron converted their horse box into a wonderful Santa’s Grotto which was visited by some 60 children.
Sarah Kerr, who helped set up the event said: “As well as Santa and his elves, we also had a gingerbread man, snowman and turkey. Coastline Coffee shop served free drinks and snacks.
“We are really grateful to everyone who contributed.”
Melvich Christmas Tree Committee and Strathy and Armadale Christmas Committee delivered the event with funding from Melvich Community Council, Dounreay Communities Fund and Strathy and Armadale Community Council.
