An Inverness woman has wowed MasterChef judges to get through to the semi-finals of the hit BBC cookery show.

Sarah McQueen Rankin became the second semi-finalist to get through in a thrilling Friday night programme.

The 47-year-old marketing consultant dished up a two course menu that guaranteed her place in the next play-offs.

Her starter of beetroot three-ways served with elderberry syrup and whipped goats cheese impressed the judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

But the minimalistic approach kept them hungry - with both saying they would have preferred a bigger offering.

However, her main of chorizo cooked down in a ragu with pan fried cod and a tempura cod cheek and a tarragon sauce was a winning dish.

Sarah, a married mother of two who now lives in Kinross, grabbed herself another chance at becoming MasterChef 2022 champion.

She said: "Throughout this competition I have tried to remain true to myself.

"I make things that I like to eat myself."
