Chance to win £200 at Brora duck race

A DUCK race at Brora, which was postponed because of the Queen’s death, will now take place on Sunday, October 9.

The fundraising event is being organised by East Sutherland Rotary Club, supported by East Sutherland Canoe Club. and starts from 12.30pm at Brora Bridge.

Organisers say 1,800 ducks have already been sold with 200 still available.

Rotarian Alistair Risk will be selling ducks outside the Coop car park in Brora in the run-up to the event.

He said: "Brora Rangers have invited us to sell ducks on October 8, when they have a match against Brechin City."

There are cash prizes for the duck race winners as well as consolation prizes. The race winner will take home £200 with runner-up prize £100 and £50 for third-placed.

Free hot dogs and treats will be on offer at the harbour finish line.
