Cats Protection need your help
Cats Protection is holding a recruitment event at Lairg Community Centre on Sunday in order to encourage cat lovers to join its newly-formed Sutherland and Wester Ross branch.
The meeting starts with a short presentation at 1pm but Cats Protection personnel will be available to provide information and to chat about cats until 3pm.
They will also be providing refreshments and giving away some small Cats Protection branded items.
A variety of cat-related and administrative roles are required, including co-ordinator, secretary, treasurer, fundraisers and fosterers, who look after cats until they are adopted by a new owner.
No previous experience is necessary for any of the roles as Cats Protection can provide assistance and support materials and will pay all reasonable expenses.
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat charity and its national network of 253 volunteer-run branches and 29 centres are looking after 7000 cats at any one time.
Lona Johnson, Cats Protection’s Regional Development Manager for Northern Scotland, said: "I’d like to encourage any local people who love cats and would like to help the charity to visit us on 27th November.
"Joining our new branch will give you an opportunity to work with like-minded people as well as gain a lot of satisfaction from improving the well-being of cats and helping their owners. If this sounds of interest then please come along and see us."
If you would like further information about the event, or would like to volunteer to help the charity’s Sutherland and Wester Ross branch, but cannot attend the meeting, please call 08000 19 19 19 or email bsusni@cats.org.uk
