Castletown man denies killing pet fish with bleach

Castletown man Colin MacNeil has been accused of threatening to kill a fellow villager's cat and poisoning his fish.

MacNeil (38) pleaded not guilty and will stand trial at Wick Sheriff Court on June 20.

The offences are said to have occurred at the home of Graham Taylor, in Mackay Street, Castletown, on March 25, the court heard on Tuesday.

MacNeil, of Calder Square, Castletown, is alleged to have shouted and sworn at Mr Taylor, made a threat about his cat and used bleach on his three pet fish.

MacNeil is also accused of kicking a police vehicle.

He was granted bail with special conditions that he stays away from Mr Taylor and does not attempt to contact him.
