Volunteers are needed to help improve the pond at Borgie Wood in north Sutherland for wildlife.

High Life Highland Countryside Rangers and North Sutherland Wildlife Group have linked to undertake the pond clearing project.

The work will improve the pond for wildlife.
The work will improve the pond for wildlife.

Work will take place from 10.30am-1pm on Tuesday, February 21, and it is hoped volunteers will give as much time as they can.

A project spokesman said: "The pond needs to be cleared of weeds and some of the surrounding vegetation requires to be tidied up.

"To stop the pond from drying out towards the end of each summer, Forestry Scotland is also going to dig out some parts of it.

"This work will make the pond much more diverse for wildlife – and a great place for the countryside rangers to lead pond dipping days."
