Do you have a whisky or gin bottle at home that you could donate for a good cause?

The fundraising team at Maggie's Highlands are calling for donations to boost a special whisky auction that Dingwall & Highland Mart will be hosting on November 25, with proceeds set to support the cancer care charity.

Highlands centre fundraising manager, Andrew Benjamin, said: "Dingwall & Highland Mart are extremely good friends with Maggies Highlands and the have supported the charity over the last year or so.

"Having spoken with them earlier this year and explained how tough fundraising is just now, they said they wanted to help.

"They have a yearly whisky auction and this year this will be in help of Maggie's highlands, which is absolutely wonderful.

"We'd be really grateful to anyone who has a of whisky or gin in the house and are kind enough to donate it for the auction.

"We hope to raise somewhere in between £3,000 and £5000 if all goes to plan. This is a really kind gesture that the Mart are doing for the charity.

"We are also very grateful to AVVA Scottish Gin, who are sponsoring the auction."

Anyone with a bottle can take it to Maggie's Highlands centre at Raigmore Hospital, or get in touch directly with the Dingwall Mart.

The latter will also provide the space for Maggie's Highlands Christmas Car Boot Sale and Festive Fair on November 6 – more information is available on the official Facebook event.
