Caithness sale report – Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts

Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts on Monday, February 6, sold 257 Store and Breeding Cattle, 659 Prime, Store, and Feeding Sheep.

Bullocks (148) averaged 283.6p per kg and sold to 327.3p for kg for 385kg Charolais crosses from Dunbeath Farms, Dunbeath and £1690 gross for a 647kg Aberdeen Angus from West Watten, Watten.

Heifers (111) averaged 262.6p per kg and sold to 302.3p for a pen of two 344 kg Charolais crosses from Dunbeath Farms, Dunbeath and sold to £1620 gross for a 663kg Aberdeen Angus from Cruithn, Tofts.

Breeding cattle (8) sold to £1280 for a Simmental Cross from Elzy Farm, Staxigoe.

Old Season Prime Lambs (162) averaged 208.2p per kg and sold to 220.7p for 46kg Texel’s from Bardnaclavan Farm, Bridge of Westfield and sold to £120 gross for 57kg Beltex Crosses from Cruithn, Tofts.

Old Season Store Lambs (231) averaged £61.60 to £110 for Black Lambs from Mill House, Stainland.

Feeding Ewes and Rams (266) averaged £69.51 to £139.50 for Texels from Hillhead, Dunnet and for Texel Rams from Durran Mains, Castletown.
