Burns Night event to be held at Carbisdale Castle

A BURNS Supper and charity auction will be held at Carbisdale Castle, near Culrain, on Friday, January 26.

The event is being held by the Lady Carbisdale Community Interest Company to raise funds for the conservation of the castle and also in support of local communities.

There will be a four-course meal, entertainment and a charity auction.

The Selkirk Grace will be said by North, West and Central Sutherland Councillor Michael Baird. Nigel Baird will give the Address to a Haggis.

Cllr Jim McGillivray, East Sutherland and Edderton, will give the Immortal Memory while Cllr John Ross Scott, Orkney, will propose the Toast to the Lassies.

Lady Carbisdale will give the Lassies' Reply and Cllr Willie Mackay, Wick and East Caithness, will read Holy Willie’s Prayer.

The cost of the event, which starts at 7pm, is £75 per person.
