Ross Sutherland Rugby Club have announced that the Kennedy brothers will make up the club's coaching team for the 2023/24 season.

It will be a new-look Caledonia North Two for the Stags next season, with the division being split into a Grampian conference and a Highlands and Islands conference.

Ross Sutherland are in the latter, and will go up against Skye, Highland 3rds, Caithness, Moray, Inverness Craig Dunain, Kinloss and Stornoway – with the top two teams from each conference going up against each other to decide promotion.

In preparation, the Stags will return for pre-season on Tuesday, July 4.

"I’m delighted to be taking on the job alongside my two brothers Murray and Ali," David Kennedy said.

"We are excited to get stuck into pre-season and welcome new and old players back to the club making for a competitive first team squad full of potential.

"With the clubhouse refurbishment done we are looking forward to bringing an exciting style of rugby on the pitch for everyone to watch, enjoy, cheer and support us from the new club house balcony."

Club chairman John Scott added: “We are very happy that the Kennedy brothers have taken the opportunity to coach our senior team next season, we want to see players progressing through the ranks at the club and this is the natural next step.

"We look forward to working with them and the players to make our centenary season one to remember.

"With less travelling ahead of us this year there will be an opportunity for supporters to join us on the road, we look forward to welcoming everyone for the opening match of the season on September 9.”
