Brora Primary School parent council is holding a Community Fete Day on Saturday, June 4, in the school playing field.

The fundraising event is to raise money for phase two of the community play park project.

A fun-packed programme is being organised and includes a mini-Highland games, car boot sale and craft stalls as well as music, raffles and refreshments.

Anyone interested in selling goods at the event is asked to get in touch, as are businesses, groups or individuals who feel they have something to offer, or a talent to display.

To find out more or to book a stall, contact Jane Mackintosh at brora.primary@highlandpc.co.uk or by phone on 0777 173 4331.

The community play park, located next to Brora Primary School, was relaunched in November last year following an extensive restoration project which saw new surfacing laid and play equipment installed.

The former play park had been in place for more than 30 years ago but had gradually deteriorated to the extent there were fears it was unsafe.

Two local parents - Jane Mackintosh and Donna Pryde - were the driving forces behind the project, raising £60,000 of funding with local businesses and the school community digging deep to lend support.

Outside grant aid was also sourced.

The next phase of the project is to repaint an adjoining block wall and add further to a grassy area.
