The first Brora Village Market was so successful that organisers are now working on the next one – and already have 10 more stalls booked.

Michael Fox, one of the co-organisers – along with Kath Hunter from The Hub in the village – tells us: “We expect to reach our target of 30 stalls for the next market which will be on Tuesday, June 4 from 11am-3pm at The Hub.

“The market itself is great for the town, but a great part of it is to actively involve as many local people as possible and to introduce people to all the things that go on at the The Hub, which is all-inclusive and anyone is welcome to visit.

“We have a community larder and a large book and DVD rental collection and the money raised from the markets will be used to pursue new ideas.

“As part of that, we have set up Coast Cafe for market days, serving drinks, snacks and meals, most of which are homemade. We hope to make the market an enjoyable experience for stall-holders as well, by offering no-charge pitches, complimentary drinks and food and even porters to help with loading and unloading!

“Our social media responses overwhelmingly mentioned the friendly atmosphere, and hence we are now officially 'the friendly market'!

"Our next market day will include a diverse range of goods, including many local crafts, foodstuffs, antiques and much more, indoors and outdoors in marquees.

"There will even be a car wash available and we are hoping to introduce live music soon."
