Britain’s Got Talent’s Edward Reid is set to take part in Maggie’s Highlands brand new Ladies Lunch event to raise vital funds to support people living with cancer with the first one to take place at the MacDonald Resort in Aviemore.

Organisers describe the afternoon as “full of fun and guaranteed laughs” and includes a welcome drink, canapes, three course lunch, which has been set for Friday, June 28 – tickets can be booked here.

Host Mr Reid will provide the live entertainment and games as well as sets from the Brilliant Blind Broken and Anne Dickson.

For those attending from Inverness we’ll also offer a free return coach transfer to Aviemore – courtesy of Stagecoach.

Tracey Gill, Maggie’s Highlands Centre Fundraiser, said: “Ladies Lunch events are organised by many of the Maggie’s centres across the UK and are so popular we wanted to bring one to the Highlands.

“MacDonald Aviemore Resort is the perfect site to host the event offering sublime food, a great venue, shopping and plenty of room to stay if you wish to make a weekend of it.

"Funds raised will help us to offer free support to those living with cancer across the Highlands from our centre in Inverness, as well as a vast online programme of support for those further afield.

“Our expert staff, including cancer support specialists, a benefits advisor and a clinical psychologist, supported people 20,000 times in 2023, and there are plans to grow the support we offer to newly diagnosed cancer patients in the region from 40% in 2023 to 66% in 2024.

“Events like these are a great opportunity to raise vital funds while also raising awareness of the support we offer at our warm and welcoming centre.”

Maggie’s provides free expert support to anyone with cancer, as well as their families and friends, who walk through our doors.

Our centres sit alongside NHS hospitals and Maggie’s can also support you online. The majority of Maggie’s funding is from voluntary donations.
