High Life Highland runs a Leadership Programme aimed at pupils in primaries six and seven.

The programme is designed to teach young people the skills they require to help lead short games and activities amongst their peers or younger pupils.

It provides basic knowledge and understanding of how to deliver a fun and safe session.

In order to win a Junior Leader Award, Hugh, Rory and Alfie had to complete a leadership training course and then deliver ten activity sessions.

The three boys wrote lesson plans and went on to organise a block of lunchtime activity sessions for p1-5 pupils. They then delivered a four-week block of lunchtime games for p1-3 pupils.

High Life Highland active schools coordinator Elissa Stevenson praised the boys for their enthusiasm.

She said: “Hugh, Rory and Alfie have a positive attitude to leadership and were always keen to give up their lunchtime to run the sessions. I am sure this will just be the start of their leadership journey.”
