UPDATE: Find of women’s body in River Conon being treated as “unexplained” by Police Scotland

POLICE have confirmed the discovery of a body in the waters of a Ross-shire river yesterday.

A road over the River Conon was cordoned off on Wednesday morning and closed to both traffic and pedestrians.

Police Scotland have now confirmed details of the operation.

A spokesperson said: “Around 8am on Wednesday, July 12, the body of a woman was discovered in the River Conon, Dingwall.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
