Body found in search for missing man

Police have confirmed that a body found yesterday is that of missing Halkirk man Robert Gunn.

Police had earlier issued an appeal for information on tracing the whereabouts of Mr Gunn.

He had last been seen at 6pm on Saturday in Halkirk.

Police have now revealed that a body was found in the River Thurso in Halkirk at around 8.30am this morning and sadly confirmed that it is that of Mr Gunn.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
