Blind sheep finds her forever home at Puffin Croft and will be guided by the sound of bells
The latest arrival at an animal petting farm based at John O'Groats is a blind sheep called Ray who will benefit from the use of special bells to help her locate the rest of the flock.
Puffin Croft took on the Shetland sheep after her disability was causing her issues on the farm she previously lived on.
Cara Young is the owner of the popular petting farm that featured in a Channel 5 series with celebrity broadcaster Ben Fogle three years ago, and said: "We think she was born blind and the farmer gave her to me as she kept getting separated from the rest of the flock when in the field.
"My pens are smaller and I plan to put a sheep bell that the Swiss use – my dad lives in Switzerland and sent me one – on one of my other sheep so she knows where they are and can keep up with them."
Cara says that over Easter "things are bonkers busy" at the petting farm which is made up of animals that have been rehomed, rescued, bought and born. All the animals live their full lives on the farm and occasionally some will need a bit of extra care and attention.
