A BETTYHILL resident has been placed under social work supervision for two years after ‘extreme’ pornographic images were found on his computer.

Paul Davies (38), Munro Place, appeared for sentencing a Tain Sheriff Court on Monday, having previously admitted having in his possession adult pornographic images.

The offence took place at his home address between October 21-26, 2015.

Defence agent Will Young said: “I accept on my client’s behalf that the charge is a serious matter - it is an offence that was committed some time ago. He has an extremely poor record, but it is of significance that there has been a fairly significant reduction in the rate of offending and that is due in part to the fact he has moved north and is in a solid relationship.”

Sheriff Gary Aitken imposed a community payback order with the requirement that Davies be supervised for two years. He ordered forfeiture of his computer.

He said: “I have the benefit of two very detailed background reports that clearly indicate you have a number of issues that would benefit from being addressed for your own sake and for society’s. If you do not engage in the opportunity you have been given, you will go to jail.”
