A chance conversation between two Brora women has resulted in the launch of the first Beautiful Brora calendar and a collaboration between local businesses.

Fiona Cooke, who operates Kelpies Treasure Gift Shop in Brora with her husband James, is keen to meet demand for a local calendar and suggested the idea to local photographer Louise Mackay.

Fiona said: "We've had lots of enquiries from locals and visitors looking for a Brora calendar and I've always thought Louise's work is fantastic".

Louise, who works at the Royal Marine Hotel and also runs a photography business, decided to take up the challenge.

She said: "I work mainly on portraiture and commercial photography so when Fiona suggested this to me, I was a bit apprehensive. However, with positive encouragement from Fiona and James along with family and friends, I decided to go for it.

"I've chosen images that show just what a lovely and unique village Brora is. Being able to work with Fiona to bring the calendar to the market has made all the difference and I hope everyone enjoys it throughout 2022."
