Aviemore’s first ever bike festival is nearly finally here and with a weekend of two wheeled adventures, demos and entertainment, the weekend is gearing up to be a big success.

The festival kicks on on Thursday evening with a talk from author and social media influencer Markus Stitz as he launches his new book Bikepacking Scotland at Badaguish Outdoor Centre by Glenmore.

Festival organiser Scott Burns-Smith commented: “This is the first year of BikeMore and we have already brought together a great number of partners and supporters to the event.

"As we’ve said before we hope to make BikeMore an annual event and we are already in talks with sponsors for 2024 on how we can make the event even bigger and better in year two."

Over the weekend there are a number of events taking place from guided rides hosted by Bike Bothy Beyond to demo gravel rides supported by local bike operators Aviemore Bikes and their UK gravel bike partner Genesis.

As part of the weekend there is a raffle to win a £2000 Genesis Gravel Bike, with all profits going to Maggies Highland and Lucky2BHere.

Mr Burns-Smith commented: “BikeMore will stage various biking relating experiences over the weekend and we have a free stunt demo show by the awesome Clan Stunt Team on the Saturday, located at the Base Station of Cairngorm Mountain.

"There are still free tickets available so just jump online and book an audience time slot."

The social hub for BikeMore is located at the Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore and organisers have said they are extremely grateful to operator Owen Caldwell and his team for supporting this event in its first year.

Mr Burns-Smith said: "Again, it is free to attend the evening entertainment with DJs ‘Booky’ and ‘Shaka Loves You’ throwing out awesome tunes throughout the weekend along with the first of its kind pop-up cinema showing off some pretty amazing biking films”.

Further information on BikeMore can be seen across on the festival's social channels on Instagram and Facebook. Visit @BikeFestivalAviemore for the latest updates and information on how to register for the weekend.
