The book was inspired by the case of Janet Horne, the last person in Britain to be executed for witchcraft in Dornoch in 1727.

Janet was one of around 2,500 innocent people executed in Scotland for this “crime”, with around 85 per cent of that number being women.

The 50-minute talk takes place at Brora Community Centre on Thursday, November 16, from 7pm. It will be followed by an audience Q&A session, a book signing and refreshments.
