A Brora based joinery contractor has launched a fun competition to amuse everyone stuck at home with time on their hands because of the coronavirus crisis.

Scott Grant, who runs S D Grant Joinery, is asking folk of all ages to unleash their creativity and make something out of cardboard toilet paper rolls.

An appropriate toilet roll creation for the time of year - cardboard bunnies.

And Mr Grant is offering a £20 prize for the winner in each of five age-based categories – preschool; primaries one to three; primaries four to seven; secondary pupils up to the age of 16; and adults.

Anyone interested in entering is asked to take a photo of their creation and send it by private mail to S D Grant Joinery Facebook page by next Sunday, April 12.

Mr Grant said he had been inspired to launch the competition by tales of shoppers panic buying toilet rolls.

"Surely with all the toilet paper flying of the shelves, there must be a lot of cardboard rolls left!", he said.

"Get your thinking caps on and no cheating."
