Residents of Assynt are being invited to take part in a survey on the environmental impact of tourism in the area.

The survey is being conducted by Lochinver resident Leah McBain who is currently studying for a Masters in Globalised Crime.

She said: “As part of my Master’s, I’m doing a small-scale study and I've decided to gather views on the environmental impact of tourism in Assynt.”

The survey, which has been approved by the University of the Highlands and Islands, is divided into three sections - tourism, environment and responsibility.

Each section consists mainly of multiple-choice questions and Likert scales – a measurement method used in research to assess attitudes, opinions and perceptions.

Ms McBain said that all responses to the survey would remain anonymous and at no point would it be necessary to provide names or identifiable information. A link to the survey can be found the Assynt Activity Facebook page. For more information contact Ms McBain at: 17029541@uhi.ac.uk or project supervisor Emma Clayes at: emma.clayes.perty@uhi.ac.uk
