High Life Highland Ranger Service is relaunching its popular Short Walks into Nature programme.

Residents in Assynt and Coigach are invited to join their countryside ranger to enjoy a guided walk.

The walks start on Monday (June 21) and are set to take place every fortnight - on Mondays in Assynt and on Thursdays in Coigach.

Countryside ranger Andy Summers said: "After all the stress of lockdown we think people might be glad of some nature therapy along with leisurely exercise, friendly company, great views, fresh air and some close-up views of our wonderful wildlife."

The slow-paced walks are aimed at people who don't want to, or are unable to, undertake longer, more demanding walks, but would still like to get out in the fresh air for a short period.

Walks will be no longer than a mile and measures will be put in place to make sure all the up-to-date Covid-19 precautions are adhered to.

Short Walk into Nature is supported through the Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape Partnership, promoting the release of the Walker’s Guide to Coigach and Assynt and Coigach & Assynt Local Guide (Scotland) App.

Anyone interested is invited to book a place by giving Andy Summers a call on on 01571 844654 or 07825 116516.

Alternatively email him at: andy.summers@highlifehighland.com

Details of where to meet will be given out on booking.
