The fair organisers say they expect a great day in Ardgay, full of "books and blether" and meetings with the authors selling and signing their books, many of them local to the area.

Among the authors in attendance will be historical fiction writer, SG MacLean, who will be present with her latest novel, The Bookseller of Inverness.

Writer of 'The Last Witch of Scotland', Philip Paris will be reading some of his works alongside Cynthia Rogerson, an award-winning memoir writer, originally from California.

Also at the fair will be Scott McGowan with his cross-genre fiction and non-fiction books and U.H.I lecturer Mandy Haggith with poetry and fiction collections. Claire Walsh, a writing coach and author of The Pink Widow, tells her experiences of grief.

Ceitidh Hutton, the award-winning Gaelic writer of children’s books and contemporary women’s fiction will be coming, along with other children’s authors and illustrators Victoria Mcdonald and Emma Helyer who will both have books and other items for sale.

Ardgay-based RKJ Adams will be at the fair with her adult and children’s books along with some of her photographic work, and Liz Treacher, based just outside of Dornoch and a writer of romantic comedies and a darker, modern novel, will also be present.

Readers who enjoy crime stories will be pleased to see James Andrew, author of six novels at the fair. Author Helen Sedgwick will also be captivating visitors with her science fiction and crime stories.

SJ Groenewegen awarded a British Empire Medal in the late Queen Elizabeth’s 2016 birthday honours for services to law enforcement and promoting LGBTQIA diversity in the workplace, will be reading some of her writing.

For travel lovers, local photographer Bryan Alexander will have his photographic books on sale, documenting the indigenous peoples of the Arctic, whilst Beth Jordan will be debuting her first memoir which documents dramatic events during her travels in Cuba.

Local caterer, Nanny’s Tea Room will be in the hall, providing drinks and tasty treats for those in attendance. There will also be several books on sale to suit everyone’s tastes and for all ages.

Volunteers from the Tain based St Duthac Book and Arts Festival will also have a stall, sharing information about their many events in September on the Easter Ross Peninsula.
