Ardgay Community Council taking complaints made following Carbisdale Castle land-buy out meeting 'seriously' and working with Highland Council to find a 'solution'

Ardgay and District Community Council (A&DCC) has announced that it it has received “several complaints” following its Extraordinary General Meeting meeting on Tuesday, November 21.

A post on the organisation’s Facebook page said the complaints were “in response to the events following the EGM on November 21”. No information was given on the exact nature of the complaints.

The meeting at Bonar Bridge Village Hall was held to discuss Carbisdale Castle owner Samantha Kane’s bid to buy land next to the stately building.

Community councillors voted not to support the bid.

A woman was later reported to police in relation to a disturbance in Ardgay, which it is understood followed the extraordinary meeting.

Ardgay and District Community Council said it was taking the complaints it had received “seriously”.

“We are working with the Highland Council to find a solution,” the group’s post said. “The issue will be discussed at the next public meeting to be held in January.

"The date, venue and agenda for the next meeting will be published on our website and notice board in due course.

"A&DCC would like to thank the community for their support and continued engagement on these important matters.

"Draft minutes of A&DCC's November meetings will be available shortly on the council's website and on the notice board."
