A north Sutherland after-school club have had a "re-brand" after meeting for their first get-together of 2023.

The Far North Fellowship’s after school club was renamed the "Friday Fun Club" by the children as they met for the first time this year on January 27 at Tongue Village Hall.

The theme for their first meeting was Noah’s Ark – and after a telling of the story, those in attendance were asked to make their own ark – before racing to find pairs of (cardboard) animals to go inside.

Stuart Mingham, of the Fellowship, said: "We had a game of finding our partners just using animal noises, a team effort to make an ark jigsaw, and a fishing game – assuming that Noah and his family might have fished off the ark sometimes for extra food.

"We finished off with a song about Noah and a prayer. Did we live up to our new name? Going off the kid’s faces, I think so!"
