'Angel of the Far North' makes an appearance

Bettyhill-based postman Mark Gilbert, a Northern Times columnist and a keen photographer, took this stunning shot at Torrisdale Bay, located between Torrisdale and Bettyhill, last Wednesday, February 8.

Mr Gilbert was struck by the massive pink and red cloud formation which reminded him of an angel.

He said: “I have called the picture the Angel of the Far North”.

A mile-long beach, Torrisdale Bay is reached by a walk from Invernaver.
