Parent council members and friends of Brora Primary hosted a successful coffee morning on March 15 – to raise funds for three different causes.

A total of over £1000 was raised to be split between three funding pots – Brora Primary school funds, Highland Hospice and the Brora new year firework display.

Several older pupils from the school also pitched in to share a brew as queues of coffee lovers gathered outside the school to contribute to what was described as an "amazing" turnout.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The event had an amazing turnout, with people queuing outside the building to get in.

"The parent council and friends of the school, along with several older children helped to run the event as they raised just over £1000.

"The funds will be split between the three pots.

"A huge thank you to all the locals who baked, bought raffle tickets and attended the event."

"Brora Primary School would also like to thank the local Celtic Supporters Club who held an event at Rhives and contributed a generous donation of £300. This will help to fund school trips.

"Cameron’s buses also donated money made from transport to the event to the school which again is greatly appreciated."
