East Sutherland and Edderton representative Deirdre Mackay made her feelings know at the start of last Thursday’s meeting, held in Drummuie.

She told colleagues and council officials that the agenda was too “light” and she was disappointed at its lack of localism.

The agenda had only seven items on it and included a police area performance summary; an overview of Dornoch associated school group; an annual area capital report and a Dornoch Common Good quarterly monitoring report.

Councillor Mackay said: “This I feel is sliding backwards and not going forwards. We need to take this up with the leadership.

“In Sutherland we are not without our challenges and opportunities and there are many things we can be going into as an area committee.”

Chairman Richard Gale, East Sutherland and Edderton, said he too was disappointed at the light agenda.
